Material Things

What would be in a world without material things?

How would the world be if people weren’t so materialistic?

Would there be more peace and prosperity?

Would there be more happiness and less sorrow?

What about more relationships being built and values being brought to life?

In today’s world the majority of people live to collect things and are run by materialistic things.

They confuse happiness with being caught up and up to date with the latest gadgets in the world. They have to upgrade everything all the time to be at bar with the best. No matter what these people need to have the latest technology..etc.

Everytime they do this, they get a quick rush of dopamine and then it leaves very quickly. Sooner or later they wonder why they need to buy or acquire something else that’s new in order to fully fill that void in their life.

There’s a saying that says the best things in life are free. I must admit that I think that this quote is 100% true and is something that we should all come to realize in the word that we live in. The most valuable things are the ones that don’t require transactions being made.

Things such as: love, family, relationships, traveling…etc.

You see all these things listed are things that ultimately create something called memories.

Memories are very interesting and is something that we all set out to do whether we are absolutely conscious of it or not. We want the materialistic toys and or objects because of the love and respect that we get from the outsiders. We all tend to want to get love, regardless of the situation, but the truth is that we don’t need to only look for it in the places of obtaining happiness objects.

The thing is that these objects are extremely lifeless at the end of the day and cannot breathe true life and happiness inside of our lives. They are dead and sooner or later these things become old and not up to date. This means that sooner or later, it will get old and stagnant and that’s exactly why people end up searching for something bigger and better so that the new feeling can come back with the exciting thrill of new being brought into their lives.

That’s all their chasing, but the reality of it all is that the happiness is very temporary and is the equivalent to taking drugs.

Sooner or later you’re going to become hooked and wanting to get that fix all the time which will then entail you to fall into the trap and a spiral of constantly looking for the next best thing. The only way to truly aquire happiness is to become present and appreciate the situation and place that you’re in now. That’s the key and the only way to become free and liberated.

Instead of collecting things, collect memories instead and then you’ll live a better life that will absolutely become something worthwhile.

Take the time to build relationships, meet new people, travel to new places and explore the world to reach that new sense of excitement. Experiment and change up the routine every once in a while and I promise that you’ll ultimately reap the benefits that come with being able to change your environment which will change the perspective of your life in a positive light.
